Privacy Policy
Afterloop helps content creators edit, publish, and improve short-form video using their own performance data and publicly available trends in their niche. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you keep over it. It covers this website and the Afterloop app and services.
1. Information we collect
- Contact details you give us. If you join the waitlist or contact us: your name, email address, and social handles you choose to share.
- Connected-account data (with your explicit authorization). When you connect an Instagram or TikTok account through each platform’s official login, we receive your profile basics (username, account ID, follower count), your own content and its performance metrics (such as views, reach, likes, comments, and watch time), and an access token that lets us act on your behalf. Access tokens are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and are never sold, shared, or logged.
- Content you upload. Video clips, audio, captions, and related material you provide for editing and publishing.
- Public content data. To power niche and trend analysis, we obtain publicly available posts and engagement metrics from public creator accounts via third-party data providers. This is public information only; we never access private accounts and never use your credentials to collect it.
- Usage and technical data. Privacy-friendly, cookieless web analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) and standard server logs.
2. How we use information
- To provide the service: edit your footage, publish content only with your authorization, retrieve your analytics, and generate recommendations.
- To generate AI-assisted briefs and insights, portions of your content metadata and analytics are processed by AI providers (currently Anthropic) under API terms that do not permit training on your data.
- To operate, secure, and improve Afterloop.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. When we share information
- Service providers that process data on our instructions: cloud hosting and networking (e.g. Cloudflare), AI providers (e.g. Anthropic), and public-data vendors (e.g. Apify).
- Platforms you connect (Instagram/Meta, TikTok), when publishing or reading data on your behalf through their official APIs, subject to their terms.
- Legal reasons, if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
4. Platform data (Instagram & TikTok)
Data received from Meta and TikTok APIs is used only to provide features you asked for, is handled per the Meta Platform Terms and TikTok Developer Terms, and is deleted when you disconnect the account or delete your data (below). We never request more permissions than the features require.
5. Data retention & deletion
You can disconnect or delete at any time:
- Disconnect a platform from Afterloop, or revoke Afterloop’s access from Instagram’s Settings → Apps and websites or TikTok’s Settings → Security → Apps. Revocation invalidates our access token.
- Email kkiiji@gmail.com with “Data deletion request” and the account handle. We delete associated personal data within 30 days and confirm when done.
Otherwise, we retain connected-account data while your account is active. Access tokens are deleted on disconnect. Aggregated, de-identified statistics (which identify no one) may be retained.
6. Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Access to production systems is restricted and logged.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Email us and we will honor verified requests within the legally required time.
8. Children
Afterloop is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We will post any changes here and update the effective date; material changes will be flagged on the site or by email.
